I'm building my first system and it was going fine and working out of the case but when I put it in the case I was getting post code that shouldn't exist ram work in some slots 1 boot up and dosent work in the next boot. It dosent make any sens and msi has not Ben any help. The h100i logo also tuns red without me doing any thing . It will tandomly turn off. Curently I'm still eating on my 1080 but I wanted to make shure nothing is doa. The parts ar a 4tb hard drive s340 razer edition x99 gaming pro carbon msi, 5960x, h100i, and 4x8gb ddr4 3200 dominator platnums,and a rm 1000x . I know the psi is over kill but there is a lot of drives going in soon . Lastly there is no video out on the motherboard. Any advice would help.

Hi!

 

Your first step is to take the motherboard out of the case and test the computer again. If it completes its POST, you're good! Sometimes it's either a cable connection that was that little bit loose or a screw or standoff on your case that's shorting two bits of the motherboard. Sometimes it's as easy as putting the computer back into the case and testing.

 

You may also want to clear the CMOS. There should be a jumper or a button for it, or you can remove the battery on the motherboard for about a minute, then put it back.

then the first thing would be to remove the assembly back out of the case and see if the errors continue.

if not, then verify the motherboard standoffs are installed and installed in their correct positions.
