Non-Native Resolution Help

I have a 4K monitor and i was wondering if there was any way to run it in 1920x1080 other than by just simply changing the resolution. It looks really terrible and blurry i wanted to know if there was some sort or scaling or something i can do in my video drivers. Its hard for me to run games in 4K because my gpu isnt very good at it, I have a gtx 970. I dont know too much about monitors and displays so if someone could help me figure out any way possible that would help alot.
