you would be fine with the i3, no bottleneck since it has hyperthreading.

correct, all the 6XXX series processors are Skylake LGA 1151.

Get the i5 4460. The individual core performance is a little weaker but four real cores are a better choice over the two cores + hyperthreading of the i3. It's likely you'll see more stutter with the i3 in CPU intensive games.

Check it out cpu test in 9 games intel i3-6100 vs i5-4460. Answer is yes these cpus will bottleneck AMD RX 480 GPU in some CPU demanding games.
