so i got my cpu to 4.5 at 1.25v

 

it worked really nice at 4.3 at 1.2v

 

but i want to ask this

 

so i played gta 5 for like 20 min on ultra and got a solid 50 fps and my temps never hit 70c, higest was around 68c

 

but when i stress it hit well, get ready to shit

but i never run my pc at 100% load and since the temps are fine when i game and shit is it safe to keep it at 4.5?

 

i mean it seems like it temp wise, but then id probably keep a temp program open so i know when my temps are high.

 

 

ps the 212 evo is shit lol. ill get a new cooler in a few weeks time after a gpu.

The 212 evo is not shit. Its really good for people what want to do small overclocks. Try changing thermal paste or checking your fan curves. 

I would tone down the overclock just to be safe. No sense in potentially destroying your CPU over a couple of FPS.

I get that, but I would be safe and keep it lower. What if you are compressing some files and you forget? or what if you are playing a game and something else is happening in the background? Like I said. no sense in getting fucked over for a handful of FPS.

Honestly, if you don't ever use 100% of your CPU, why OC it so much? If you don't use anything close to 100%, keep it at stock clocks so you won't lose much if any performance and keep it at lower temps and voltage, or maybe a slight OC. Remember the more extreme the OC is, the less efficient it will be.

well most games  i play dont use 100, but the oc still make the game run better by looks

I advice you to set the CPU cooler fan speed from 50% to 100% just in case! :D (target temp should be around 60-70c)
