sensor test in gaming mouse

I have two mice I want to test a WoW mouse and a shitty cheap mouse. I like the cheap one better cuz it looks cooler and I hve a matching mousepad but how do I tell if I'm better off using the other one cuz it is a laser sensor. I want to make sure I'm not at a huge disadvantage. Thanks!
