You would have to contact AT&T and see what your options are. Otherwise you could find some defect in the phone and report that but u might just end up getting a replacement. See if you're eligible for a return. ATT offers you like 30 days to exchange phones if you have 2nd thoughts about iirc

Well I got the phone for free because AT&T sent two phones to my mom instead of one so I think any option with them is off the table.

Well, usually you need an issurance to do that and your current phone has to be damaged... 

 

I dont know how American carriers work, but i supose @Flight1sim provided the best response already.
