im going to overclock my new system which has a 6600k soon. the cooler is a hyper 212 evo.

what is the max temp limit i should go to?

what frequency should i start at?

what voltage is the limit?

also i am still waiting for my 1070 to arrive will it make any difference if i overclock the cpu without the 1070 in place yet?

stay under ~85c under load

try 4ghz, then 4.1, then 4.2.

i would say around 1.3v.. try to not go above that.

that would make a difference I would assume.

Don't forget to stress test w/ p95!

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

wouldn't ida 64 10 hr test be enough? because i dont think any game will be as intensive as that and im not planning to do much else then gaming.

yeah that would be enough. 12 hours perhaps (because 12 sounds better than 10 hours xD

Definitely use Aida64. Built in monitoring is much preferred vs Prime95 imo.

Make sure Cache is ticked too.

To be honest stressing isn't really necessary imo unless you're pushing towards a voltage limit for a clock. No game would be massively CPU intensive.

it adia better than occt? that thing can stress everything to test your psu too.

Honestly not sure. If OCCT works for you then just continue on with it.
