Hey guys,

I´m currently planing my winter upgrades which includes a new PSU.

I looked at the Corsair RM650x 650w modular.

So I wanted to ask if this one would be good enough for my system, which is after upgrading a 6700k @4,6GHz (may push 4,8GHz) cooled by a Corsair H115i with two EK fans, 16GB 2400Mhz RAM, Strix 1080 OC, one SSD and two HDD´s?

Thanks already!

You're fine. The Corsair RMx series are fantastic.

You will be good RMx series.

To be  safe if you are going to OC reading reviews on all your components go with 750 watt power supply.

You should be good.

Ok, the RM750x is only 20 bucks more, the RM850x again 10 more, but I might do that, thanks

I'd prefer the EVGA 650 GQ or G2, but the RMx is a good unit.

They are hard to get in Germany for whatever reason...

You're good. Single GPU systems rarely (if ever) use over 500W of power, even overclocked. 650W is really overkill tbh ;) but I'd stick with it anyway to be safe.

A bit of headroom is always nice :) So yeah, I might go RM650x then, since I will stay single GPU.

I agree ;). My system pulls like 300W under full load, and the only difference is that I have a 1070 while you have a 1080. Everything in there is overclocked too (RAM, CPU, GPU).

I have an 850W PSU just in case I ever want to SLI, but 650 alone (or 750 to be safe) would've been fine it appears. So basically, single GPU, great choice!

650W would be enough to SLI 1080s. You'd be fine to use the RM650X as well as it's a good PSU. I'd maybe recommend the RMi if you want a better fan and support for Corsair Link.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Ok, I´ll look into it. The 750 version is only 10€ more, so I might grab the 750 just to be sure xD

I can recommend the RMi personally. Mine is dead silent - fan never turns on. Corsair Link is nice to have, but not super duper useful or anything. Just switches rail mode and tells you some stats.
