Well, what if I have an apu with an additional gpu such as the 7770, will I still need high ram speeds or not because I added a gpu to my apu.

No you would not. You need fast RAM speeds with an APU because the APU uses RAM as its vRAM, so faster RAM = better performance. If you add in a dedicated graphics card, that doesn't matter anymore.

No problem. But if you find 1866MHz RAM for a similar price, I'd still recommend getting that. For the duration of gaming with the APU, it will help. Then again, you could always try to overclock 1600MHz RAM.
