Hey guys, I'm facing a weird dillema - I've been running my setup for almost 4 years now - p8z77-v mobo + 3770k @4.5 GHz and 4x4Gb Kingston Beast 2400 memory, few months ago added a 980 ti.
Unfortunately, the board is starting to crap out - Sometimes it starts turning all of my usb devices and refuses to turn them back on, or is picky and disables just one block of ports.
While gaming online this is quite an annoying problem, and it happens even in bios sometimes.
My real problem starts here - for some reason unknown for me, I can't find any z77 motherboards available - neither in places that have used hardware, or on our local equivalent of ebay.
The z68 boards though for some reason can be found in abundance, and my question is - does it make any sense to "downgrade"? Will I even notice the difference, and will my memory be able to use its XMP profile to simply go to 2400?
I've been looking at a p8z68-v pro, and it looks pretty darn similar to my board, except the lack of pci-e 3.0 ( does it even make a difference with a 980 ti on a single display? )  and native usb 3.0.

I know that some of You might recommend upgrading to a new platform altogether, but my 3770k is still rocking and I don't feel like upgrading is really justified.

Thanks in advance :D

Thank you @arch_linuxos, but the problem is that I live in Poland, Europe - shipping from United States is not really that simple for me, and I don't really have 250 $ to spend, but i'd still like a board that isn't basic - that's why I'm looking at the used section.

Ah ok :). That board you're looking at  p8z68-v pro looks fine! PCIe 2.0 will be fine as long as it's 16x. You'll lose like 2% performance maybe at the MOST. As for USB3, you can always get PCIe expansion card :).

You may need a bios update for the 3770k to work in a z68 board.  You can also look for p67 chipset boards.  Whatever you do don't get an msi z77 MPower.

What's wrong with the MPower?

It doesn't like 3770k.  It has a habit of killing the cpu or itself :P I ran a 2550k, 2600k and 2500k in my MPower over 2 years.  Then I put a 3770k in and it was dead within a week :(

Oh. Well, I'm not looking forward to parting with my CPU anytime soon, so thank You for the heads up :D
