Computer keeps freezing

So i just recently bought a asus strix gtx 1080 and after installing the graphic cards the pc keeps freezing randomly.

Previously i had a r9 290 and i had done a windows format before installing the new card.

Please help its so frustrating.

AMD FX9590

STRIX GTX1080

ASUS CROSSHAIR FORMULA-Z mobo 

16GB Croisar vengeance ram

Crosair AX1200i PSU

What is your operating system? When you say "freezing", do you mean it freezes for a few seconds and then resumes operation? Does it freeze and then shut down or blue screen? Does it only occur during gaming or during any PC use?

the operating system is windows 10. its just freezes and does not resume operation the only to to restore is a hard reset and no bluescreen. I also did run windows memory diagnostic utility and it said there was no problem with the memory.

I had the same problem for some time with the old but it somehow fixed it self.
