Hello guys! I had the pleasure to try out an HP envy 34c, but becuase my 970 almost died trying to get my 3440x1440 pixels working, and because It's more expensive than my whole rig, it's too expensive for me. However it was really awesome, and I'm looking forward to get myself a monitor.

After a bit of searching, I found this:
http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-25UM58-P-ultrawide-monitor
and it's big bro:

Yes, they are 2560x1080, but I'm totally fine with that at this pricepoint. Howerver, I never seen a 1080p screen this big, and I'm afraid the pixel density is too low to be enjoyable. The 34" is 1440p, and this is only smaller by 5".
What I really liked about the HP, is that it was curved and I saw the whole picture without any image torsion, never a colour out of it's context. When looking at a flatscreen this big, wouldn't any colout torsion occour at it's sides? I found the curved version of the above monitor, but the price is almost double, which is kinda sad:

Thank you forward, if you recommend other monitors at this pricepoint, your oppinion is more than welcomed.

I had similar issue picking my monitor before I settled with Samsung SD850 - 32" 1440p 16:9. 2560x1080 is ok for some gaming but will not work with all titles as some games just refuse the "unusual" resolution. It is also just as good as any 1080p monitor meaning it actually sucks on productivity apps. However, 3440x1440 is just too pricey. That's where 32" Samsung goodness came in handy. I love it. There is also Philips BDM3270 one out there along with BENQ if I am not mistaken.

Pros of Samsung:

exceptional color reproduction and deep blacks

good viewing angles (to a point where to an untrained eye it is just as good as IPS)

fast response

massive screen real estate

stand that can be adjusted to anyone's needs (also includes wall mount bracket)

looks great on the desk

Cons:

stand is not as fluid to adjust as Philips one

user menus are not as "professional" as Philips

build quality is good but does not exactly match the looks

Hope this helps.

I have the 29um58-p , IMO it is the best screen size for a 21:9 2560 x 080 resolution, 25" is too small. I think the gtx 970 will run fine on this resolution, I just upgraded to gtx 1070 (msi gaming x) PSA. 29um58 on lg website says it has a refresh rate of 75 but i only see 60 hz on nvidia control panel so just a reminder

Rig: CPU: Intel I7 4790k @ 4.5 ghz | MOBO: MSI Z97 Gaming 3 | RAM: 4x4 gigs Kingston Fury 1600 ddr3 | GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 1070 Gaming X PSU: Seasonic M12ii-620 Evo Edition | HDD: 1 TB WD, 500 GB WD | SSD: Kingston SSD now 240 and 120 GB CASE: In Win 303 RGB edition | Mouse: Corsair m65 pro | Keyboard: Roccat Ryos MK | Headset: Hyper X Cloud Pro  | Monitor: LG 29um58-P Ultrawide monitor.
