Having trouble copying music to ipod touch

Recently I've been having trouble copying over some new music onto my ipod touch.

 

My iTunes version is 12.4.3.1 and my iPod's firmware is 9.3.3, both the latest versions available.

 

My issue is that the last 3 albums I've tried to copy over  to the iPod have failed to do so.

 

The syncing arrows show up on the iPod showing that some sort of syncing is going on, and iTunes itself shows the 'preparing to update iPod' and the blue progress bar moves along and eventually disappears.

It does appear to hang a bit but 'completes nonetheless.

 

But when I check on the iPod itself, the albums do not show up under the artist it should.

 

Viewing what is on the iPod when it is connected to iTunes shows that the albums  are "there", but they are greyed out and have circles beside the songs.

 

On top of this issue, iTunes has somehow managed to delete every single album cover artwork which is just mind boggling on its own.

 

Is my only option to wipe the iPod and copy back my entire music collection???

Itunes is terible in my opinion. Use copytrans, it's way easyer and you can copy back and forth more like you're used to with explorer

can you tried deleting them from your ipod and syncing them back?

Yes, I have tried this multiple times to no avail
