Port Forwarding with 2 Routers

Ok, here's my dilemma.
I have 2 Wireless Routers
Router 1 is my Cable Modem/Router (has wifi too but is disabled)  its a NETGEAR CG3700EMR-100GES
Router 2 is my Wifi Router (does the actual routing for connected devices) its a NETGEAR R8500

I do a lot of online gaming but i am am getting NAT-type strict or bad connection warning in many games.
At the moment i have only port forwarded on my R8500 router, and i have a list of port forward on the Modem/router but not enabled it. (check the photos)
So please tell me the best configuration for online gaming. If you need further screen caps of my router configuration im willing to provide that.
This is what i have in mind, set the modem/router to bridge mode as it has the functionality on it and port forward on the R8500 or port forward from r8500 and let the modem catch it on the internet port and port forward it to the external ip address.(NOTE: the R8500 does not have an option for external IP address only the modem does.

if only the bottom router is connected to the top and nothing else, disable the firewall on the top one.

firewall you mean as in disabling the port scan?

From read the doc i found, try setting the bottom router a DMZ. Don't wrong the bottom one (and everything bellow it) is still protected by its own firewall.

so should port forward from bottom-top to out or just bottom-out

For all port to get though to the bottom level, the top must port to the bottom and the bottom must port to the server.

Beware, if you do enable DMZ it will only stay on for Roughly 24hours before automatically turning back on, even then you need to enable the DMZ on the cable modem for the router, and then port forward on the router, id also recommend port forwarding the router inside of the modem (I have the same setup and it seems like that works better)

i wont be enablind dmz too risky, so anyway, if i port forward from the the R8500, and

yeah, how to do that, what do i type in as the internal ip in modem port forwarding? the internet port address of the r8500 or the ip of the pc

the ip of the r8500 on the top subnet (wan port)

this is the home page of r8500, which should be the internal ip from here, the internet port address? bbecause when i type in r8500 in the modem as internal ip its says its not in lan but when i type in the internet port address its fine

It would be 192.168.0.4 but you have it set to DHCP so could change. I would give it a static ip and that would be its ip.
