My first PC build

Go to solution Solved by Ophidio,

Do not go AMD. That chip is 4 years old now and honestly shouldn't even be on the market anymore. Go with an Intel i5 4460, 6400, or 6500 instead. Even if you are trying to go budget there are much better Intel options that are more budget friendly. Also if you do decide to go AMD do not get a 970 chipset on an FX 8 core. Worst decision you could ever make right there. Kingston SSD Now's are terrible options for SSD's as well. Sandisk SSD Plus is a much better option for the same price or cheaper.

Thx. I'll change it to Sandisk, but is 120gb enough or should I get the 240 gb.

There are really no AMD chips worth it right now. Probably won't be until Zen is released which honestly I'm thinking is never going to happen. to get the best speeds you can out of an SSD go with a 240GB. IMPO 120GB SSD's shouldn't even be a thing. They're overall a waste of money when it comes to performance/price.

For your CPU I would recommend i5 6400/6500 on an H110 chipset it's the best price/performance ratio on the intel side and will be around the same price as your AMD choices.

If I've noticed right you can't use AMD and DDR4 together, so should I change my RAM to DDR4 or should I keep it as DDR3? And what motherboard do you recommend?

that just depends on what CPU you get. No AMD chip currently supports DDR4, on the Intel side of thigns Haswell chips only support DDR3, while Skylake supports DDR3 and DDR4 depending on the motherboard you get. So just find out what your motherboard supports then get your RAM based on that option.

Does that look better? I will change the Case and the power supply. Any suggestions on them?

yep id say thats good. If you can do it go with a 6600k since you're wanting to get a Z170 board. You can overclock a 6600k yuo can't a 6500

If you are not overclocking you can get a cheaper cpu cooler then. I am assuming though you are getting the noctuas for aesthetics tho right?\

btw ram isnt added on your second build. As for the above guy since you are not overclocking you can get a b150, unless again you are going for aethestics.
