Hello, i have 2,5" 1tb samsung spinpoint HDD.

it has black plastic between PCB and the drive.

and yesterday my HDD was soaked by rain, (not so much) so i unscrew the pcb, tearing apart PCB, black plastic and the drive.

then immersed them all at rice for a day.

then now i put in back--but the black plastic is lost (it seems someone mistook it as trash)

so .. is it okay just screw the pcb back without the blackplastic? will it short or something...

my 2,5HDD is naked (not using any case), just sata to usb 3 converters., and i usually touch by hand..

sorry for my terrible english..

a GeForce GTX series 970 user.

I would personally call it a wash. I wouldnt risk plugging it into my system personally and risk it damaging my components.

Well if you had all the parts and pieces from when you took it apart, it wouldn't hurt to try it out, but I don't personally know what purpose that piece would serve so I would consider the drive bad personally and cut my losses from it.
