Difference between two gpu's

Hi there I was just wondering what the difference was between the MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G MODEL and the MSI GTX 1070 GAMING Z 8G MODEL was. They both look and have the same features, but the Z model is cheaper and offers better clock speeds than the X model on newegg.ca. But the the biggest problem is, when I search the Z model up online It refers only to the X model.

Only difference is going to be the core clock speed. The Gaming Z will have a higher base/boost clock over the gaming X. With that said, all the cards regardless of which edition actually all overclock to about the same just under 2100mhz or right at 2100mhz.

Higher factory overclock and a few fancy RGBs on the card itself. Not that different from the Gaming X.

The Z version is clocked higher at stock. That's it really. The backplate is slightly different as well.

Just the higher clocks and the huge MSI dragon on the back-plate, differentiate the Gaming Z from the Gaming X. If you're gonna overclock the GPU anyway, get the Gaming X, as the GPU itself can go only upto around 2.1 GHz. irrespective of the brand, cooler, or PCB.
