The X99 Platform

What do you guys think about the X99 platform? Did you ever used it for gaming? If yes , how it was?

If gaming is your concern and nothing else, 6700k is the best you can get for now.

If you intend on using it for something else then list it down and we go from there.

I have x79 (3930K)and x99 (6900K) systems, and do not game much.

 

I play a little bit of AotS on occasion, which loves to use a lot of CPU cores, but the vast majority of games are still limited to 1-4 threads which makes the platform unnecessary and in many cases worse for gaming.

It is ludicrously stupid to run games for it to max out the CPU at 6% utilisation.

I game on a 5820K and on a few games that like many cores/hyper threading it is pretty nice but overall that is a rather small percentage of games.

If the game doesn't take advantage of a lot of core/thread it performs about the same as an i7 47XX and those are still damn good CPUs for gaming.
