GPU - CPU compatibility question.

Go to solution Solved by Luc401,

I do not see any bottlenecks. If you want a compatibility checker use PCPARTPICKER. It is very handy.

Hello All,

Honestly first time using the forums here, so i thought i would ask this question on this forum space.

I have been considering a mid-end/budget gaming PC and i have come up with the best possible choices in my situation to use the following GPU + CPU:

  • MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X
  • Intel core i5-6600K

Note: I will be doing some basic overclocking on the CPU part.

Now what i am worried about is the compatibility here, as if it is not obvious i cannot spot bottlenecks. Would these two have a problem working together, any possible frame drops?

The other parts of the PC build:

  1. MSI Z170 Gaming M3 Motherboard
  2. Corsair Vengence 16GB Kit (2x8) 2400Mhz
  3. Corsair 256GB Force LE SSD
  4. Toshiba SATA III 1TB DT01ACA100 HDD
  5. All powered up by Corsair CS750M 80+ Gold Modular
  6. The CPU cooling system would be a Deepcool Ice Blade 200M PWM, but actually i will probably wait a month to get a Noctua NH-D14

I suppose the OS i will be running on is Windows 8.1 Professional x64 bit, if anyone cares.

But in any case, i am curious, do you think this is a good mid-end gaming build for 1400$ US Dollars? (Not budgety at all, but hey, I go soft when i start building PC's...)

Cheers Lads!

J.

Wow,

I wasn't expecting such a fast response, and thank you all for your inputs, thoughts and suggestions here.

I will consider changing the PSU to something that suits the wattage needs of the build. Although i will most probably keep it because of possible future SLI uses (after a salary or two)

In any case, cheers lads!
