rma problem

i recently did an rma on my motherboard as both bios's corrupted and i received the replacement today and have finished building my system back up but when i turn the system on i have no power led (could be my fault) both my monitors are blank and my keyboard runs in sort of a demo mode... why won't the system post? could my old motherboard have damaged my graphics cards so neither of them will output a signal? i have no clue now on why it will not post.

checked and i've tried with 2 different graphics cards

Must be a motherboard issue. Try to see if you can send it back to the manufacturer if you have warranty. Try running it without a Graphics Card to see if the PCI-E slot is the issue and test if your graphics cards are fully functional.

 

I would suggest buying another motherboard if this one keeps getting issues, it seems really unrealiable.

could it be a cpu or ram issue aswell because this motherboard has just come back from an rma and was fully refurbished

Clear CMOS, use 1 Stick of RAM only, try onboard graphics and keyboard only and take it from there.

You could try different RAM / CPU if you have a friend that might loan you his hardware or if you have a PC parts store in town that is cooperative

Yeah you should check if your CPU and RAM are actually compatible with the motherboard or find out if they're faulty.

I've had no problems with the computer until now and I've been using it since October last year

Can I ask what hardware you're using, like the power supply and GPU and what motherboard and stuff. It may help find out what could be the problem.

have you tried switching the PSU to see if that helps anything?

yeah got the motherboard, ram and cpu rma'd and i still have this problem

all sorted now, no idea what was up i just left it for a week, went back to it and it booted
