I'm not the best at choosing computer components, and I need a *much* better cooler than the stock AMD one. I haven't been able to afford one until now, and I don't know what's good and what's not. I need a relatively cheap cooler for my non-overclocked Athalon X4 860K. It's been hitting temps of 80+ celsius and I'm really worried about it. I'm looking in the area of a CM Hyper 212 EVO or something like that. Thanks.

I have these parts:

Hyper 212 EVO of course. If you can go a bit higher, the Cryorig H7 is also an excellent choice.

If you look closely you can see his ram is high profile so the 212 EVO and the H7 wont fit

If you have a single stick of ram Id assume its in the second ram slot? If so the Evo and H7 will fit since they only have issues with the first ram slot clearance

I can easily move the stick over to the next slot, so clearance shouldn't be an issue. Would the 212 fit then?

I think it will not fit since the motherboard is very very skinny and small in width compared to other boards,i say get a low profile cooler

Well for the price of an evo etc you can get a 2nd hand aio which would perform better regardless of if its overkill or not.

Main system:

So I should play it safe? I think that it'll fit even if my motherboard is abnormal, I wish there were easy measurements for this stuff. Is the tall ram cooler hard to... remove?

I'm not getting anywhere near water cooling until my next build way down the road.

Play it safe, but you can go to a shop and ask them if you can turn it back to them if it does not fit here are my coolers that you can pick

Cryorig C7

Noctua NH-L9i

Silverstone AR06

they are on the expensive side but if you chose to upgrade you can reuse them

the 212 should also be fine for clearance. it shouldn't hang over your RAM. However that is based on some pictures I just googled. not 100% sure if your exact setup will replicate that (although it should). Feel free to do your own research to confirm this.

Crap. I posted the wrong motherboard. Never trust what your pcpartpicker says, I guess. Here's the right one. I've updated the OP as well. Sorry about that, I just wasted some of your time. The spacing on this board doesn't look too much better, but estimates should be good enough.

Here's a photo of the actual motherboard:
