So My old PC is still AMD X810, 6GB of ram, and XFX radeon 4890

and I think its too old, plus its a mid tower chasis, I think I do need a m-ATX case like the new Bitfenix Phenom.

so Budget wise is $3K  should Cover everything but monitor,

again it is no rush, I can either do it now, or next summer. But I need to know is it a good time to build a pc from 0 (without any of my existing harwares)  now ?

Aim: My job is video editing/ some Aftereffects work. Rendering is a big problem for me, I need a faster rendering machine (usually its color corrections of videos, not 3D stuff)

3. Monitors
Ideally, 2 monitors, Thinking to get Apple Thunderbolt display (I know it is not possible to hook up to a pc), But is there a cheaper version with a screen that has that kind of resolution and better panel ?

4. Peripherals
Ideally, Im going to need 2 SSDs for dual system, One mac and one PC, so hackintosh yes. but if the choice is between 20% more performance vs getting a Mac system when choosing hardwares, I choose PC.

right now thinking GTX 780 from Asus, i7 4770k, 16gb ram, and ROG VI  gene, case phenom. Samsung 840 pro

Get a new build all together. You can get apple displays, which have been rejected by apple because they don't meet their standards(Not A+ but they are A-). They cost a lot less. Look at the Shimian or X-Star monitors for 2560X1440. Also the Shimian has a 2560X1600 version as well

If you want top quality 1440p displays, Samsung/ASUS/Viewsonic/Dell have some nice ones. They're not cheap, with one of Samsung's costing pretty much the same as the Apple Thunderbolt display, but these are absolutely top-notch.

Desktop: Core i5-2500K, ASUS GTX 560, MSI Z68A GD65, CM HAF 912 Advanced, OCZ Vertex 4, WD 1TB Black, Seasonic P660, Samsung S27A850D, Audioengine A2, Noctua NH-D14, NB eLoops

Laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon

Peripherals: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013, Razer Deathadder 3.5G, Razer Deathadder 2013, Razer Goliathus Control, Razer Manticor
