Help please?

With the release of the gtx 1060 and rx 480, I thought I might upgrade my old gtx 960 2gb. The only problem is that both the gtx 1060 and rx 480 are both about 330€. Should I go for a gtx 1060 or a rx 480 or even get a r9 390x which is also about 330€?

If they are the same price, get the 1060.

It depends on what games you're planning to play. Some are better optimized for team red, and others for team green. Personally, I'm going to give it a couple more months for pricing to settle down and availability to increase.

the speed of the gpu, the amount of ram, the memory bandwidth are other factors....... what do you play and at what resolution and at what settings do you like?

then go look at benchmarks around the web and compare your card and see if anybody mentions any limitations to what I printed..... I already know the 2gigs of vram has been proven to be a limiter.

check to see if you really need another card.

I'd go for the 1070, i've had better overall cards over the years from them. though and RX 480 isn't bad either.

 

So depending on what price you can get for them, go with the cheapest one, but if there's only a small difference i'd go Nvidia

So should I spend ~110€ more for a 1070 and get a 1440p monitor later? (I currently have a 1080p one)
