Ya, emulators are more CPU intensive then GPU (like mentioned above). It would probably be better to invest the money into getting a better CPU, my 6800k runs Dolphin pretty smooth with no hitches.

I have a 4790K so I should be good there. I figure there are other emulators that are more towards the GPU side of things.

I've run emulators off my HD4600 in my 4790k. I'm assuming you have a Z97 motherboard, just give is some voltage and crank up the frequency. Standard overclocking fair, then give it a shot. Best game I was able to run was KOTTOR.
