S7 to MacBook

My brother is attempting to connect a brand new from a retailer S7 to his MacBook (model unknown) and is saying it won't connect.  Connecting the S7 to the MacBook triggers the connection type query on the phone and opens the Samsung file transfer app on the MacBook and prompts him to restart the phone, resetting the usb connection type to charge only.  Anybody have any advice besides getting a "computer that's not a crapple" or "git gud"?

Try installing Windows or Linux in bootcamp and connecting to that? Could be an issue with OS X.

EDIT: Also, you don't need a Samsung app to transfer files, unless Samsung has done some funky stuff to their phone.

my friend has a s4. she can not connect her s4 to her macbook

Set the default settings in android to connect file transfer rather than charge to see if that helps.

Have you tried using the program Android File Transfer, cause that's in my opinion the easiest way to acces an android phone on a mac. If you have installed that program, it should automatically launch when you plug in your device.

I had a friend that had a S5 and a 15" MBP,  and it did not work. What exactly are you trying to do?
