I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and I'm noticing a weird problem.

When I move the The "working" pointer (Aero) it stutters.  It's not the loading circle-thingy, its the whole pointer, as it moves it stutters, like it has low fps, it's not smooth as the normal pointer. A perfect example would be that the normal pointer moves at 60 fps , and this one looks like 5 fps when moving it.

It's a little thing but it really bothers me, and this didn't happen when I had Win7 x86.

I have all my drivers installed correctly and up to date. O.S is Windows 7 x64 SP1.

Thank you in advance.

It might be the mouse, raise the DPI or try a different one

I'd wouldn't say it's a DPI issue, but polling rate instead.

Nope guys. I don't think it's the mouse. It's a Razer Abyssus and I've been using it for a year now at the same settings: 450dpi - 1000hz.

As stated in the post, this didn't happen to me in x86. With the same mouse and same settings.

Also, if it was the mouse, it would happen with every pointer, but this is only with the "busy" or "working in background" ones.

Reset your pointer settings? Start Menu -> Search "Mouse"

I had a similar issue but it was only noticeable when recording the screen with xsplit or obs. I still dunno what caused it but I sold the PC to a friend

I have same problem, hardly noticeable, but still present. It has something to do with Windows itself and GPU drivers i assume, because that happens only when GPU use 2D clocks.

Possible solution, flash GPU to use higher 2D clocks (for both core and memory, at your own risk).

Edit: Another solution, For both "working in background" and "busy" change to "normal select" type cursor, it will not draw animation when it's working (or busy), but will also not stutter (you probably don't need that anyway, you know when your computer works...). Or you can use Vista cursor to keep those "notifications".

Problem is described here 4 years ago:

Hope it helps.
