Hey guys, I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to put this, if not let me know. Anyway, I've recently got a 144hz display and found that playing GTA V in Windowed Boarderless mode results in this very weird jagged, almost screen-tearing movement. I've tried messing around with V-Sync turning it off etc. But nothing I do makes it fluid and normal. This is not an issue in fullscreen, thats fine, very smooth. I was wondering if anyone else has the same issue, or if it just means I'm stuck to playing fullscreen mode. Thanks

Sounds like a driver issue, either graphically or in game. You can try updating your GPU driver or re-installing the game. If it was working fine before I'm lead to believe there's a driver that doesn't want to play nice with the monitor.

Would you recommend that I just do a DDU?

That's up to you. If you really want to rule out it being a driver issue you can. I used that utility once, ever because I had the leading suspicion it was some type of display driver causing my computer to BSOD. Worked well, computer has been cooperating since I reinstalled the display driver. You can uninstall manually or use DDU it's up to you.

Ok, so by changing the display to be application controlled refresh rate. That fixed it. HOWEVER, if I play any media on my 2nd monitor, e.g. a twitch stream, it goes back to stuttering. Any ideas?

Unfortunately I do not, I assume you want to use windowed mode so you has escape the game and do things one your other display without exiting the game? Are you aware you can use Alt+Tab to exit any full screen application?

Yea, of course. It's just faster in Borderless. So.

Fair reason. Does it only do it in this one game or does it do it in multiple? I know if the GPU refresh rate is out of sync with the monitor it can lead to graphical glitches. Check the NVIDIA driver and make sure the refresh rate says 144Hz then make sure the display is running at 144Hz. Are you using HMDI, DVI, DP?

Yea, the refresh rate is fine, all the settings are correct. I'm using DVI, I could try HDMI. But, right now it seems that people having a 2nd monitor of 60hz seems to cause issues similar to mine with games. People said they could fix it by disabling areo in win 7, but i'm on 10. So no idea lol. I will try other games now also.
