I upgraded my CPU from the amd a6-7400k to the amd fx 8320, games have been playing great, except when i play gta 5 or rust, after a couple minutes my computer just restarts. The cpu temperature stayes around 40c, and when i switched out the mobo and cpu i reapplyed thermal paste. I really don't know what to do, here are my specs

Amd fx 8320 cpu

Gigabyte GA‑78LMT‑USB3 mobo

EVGA gtx 750ti gpu

WD caviar blue Hard drive

Sentey Bxp600-ps Pc psu

I can almost guarantee it's your PSU.

Try running the PSU test in OCCT, and see if that results in a restart.

The 750 ti requires 20a on the 12v line, and your PSU BARELY delivers, so it's highly likely that it's unable to supply sufficient power to the card. It's really not a great PSU to be running an 8320 with either, it's continuous wattage rating is terrible.

Could very well be the PSU. The PSU model you have is rated for 600 W as a "Max Peak Power", which means that 600 W number is completely worthless.

They don't give a continuous rating, but looking at that particular PSU, you get 20 A on the +12 V rail, or 240 W total. While the 750 Ti is pretty low powered and often has a rated power draw as low as 60 W (it's often seen without a PCIe connector), other components need power from that rail, too, like the CPU.

The FX 8320 has a TDP of 125 W while the A6-7400K has a TDP of 65 W. While TDP isn't entirely accurate for power consumption (it's an estimate, plus it could possibly be more, such as if you're stress testing), we can estimate that the CPU you added requires around twice as much power as the last one.

GTA V is very CPU intensive. I'd agree that that PSU may simply be unable to handle the load when both the CPU and GPU are working hard (whether because of poor design or a fault). As an experiment, try setting the graphics to "low" and see if it lasts longer without restarting.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

I will download OCCT right now, thank you

Alright, i will look into getting a new psu, thank you

Judging by your build, I'd say you'll be just fine with a 500 W PSU or better.

I'm assuming you're also wanting a cheap power supply, and there are a few decent ones out there that cost no more than $60.

There's the EVGA 500B/600B, which are 80+ Bronze and cost $40-$50. They're priced around the same, which is why I suggested both. They aren't the best units, as EVGA makes much better PSUs like the G2 series, but if this is your budget, it's your budget.

There's also the Corsair CX550M and costs $50-$60. Like the 500B/600B, they're 80+ Bronze. They're probably a little better in quality than the 500B/600B, but you are still getting what you pay for in the end. I've personally used one of these on a previous build without any issues whatsoever.

I'd check around for better PSUs. There are many nice PSU tier lists out there which could help you. Also make sure you check the specifications for the PSU as well.
