New CPU for Recording/Streaming

Hello! I am posting this for assistance with a new CPU. My current CPU is a intel i3-4160 Processor 3.60 GHZ, 2-Core with a GPU of a GTX 970.

So yeah, that above is my motherboard. Now I record AND Stream Minecraft. I am wanting to stream and record other games such as CSGO, Overwatch, LeagueOfLegends, etc.... so I am wanting to get a new CPU. But I am having trouble selecting the right one that does what I need. I record with OBS and I am currently using mainly my GPU processor to do it. But I am wanting to starting putting power on my CPU so I am buying a new one.

 

Any Help  for a new one?

you want an i7 for streaming, either a 4790k or as posted above a xeon 1231.

Okay, so yeah the xeon1231 just dosent have a video chip and less TDP?

Is the xeon1231 made for like computers? It seems like that is a CPU you would put into a server.

I record my raiding nights with the Xeon E3-1231 v3 & I suffer no lag or issues at all, I would highly recommend it over the i5 / i7 - I also have 32GB Ram & 960 4GB Gpu I record to SSD then edit & post them on youtube then Archive them on 2TB drive.

The only thing that I do see is that the i7 4790K has 4.0 GHZ but then intel Xeon E3 only has 3.4 

Is that a big matter or naw?

the xeon is basically a 4790, so the locked 4790k, theres not much difference tbh.

So if I buy the xeon I will have extra money to buy a new Power supply because the one that I have right now is like 5 years old and cant fully power my GTX 970 (only has a 3 line power thing and I need a 4 long one)

 

Any tips on what power supply to buy?

Okay Okay, So I am down for getting the Intel Xeon CPU E3-1231 v3 @ 3.40GHz.

 

But any opinions on a new Power Supply?

corsair psus are way over priced... 170 quid for that, is that a joke or what, get an evga g2 650 or 750.
