Hello, I have been encountering some issues with my PC overheating and shutting down while playing the new DOOM video game. This first occurred a few weeks ago, but it has happened multiple times since then. I first tried to fix the problem by cleaning out my system with compressed air, however this did not solve the issue, and it overheated a second time during a loading screen. Recently I tried re-applying the thermal paste on my CPU, but this also did not work and my PC crashed again only ~45 minutes into the game. I have been trying to monitor my temps while playing using Core Temp and have seen my CPU reach upwards of 80C before crashing. My system has a FX-8350 processor and I have a hyper 212 evo heat sink on it, so I was surprised to get this problem initially, but now I don't even know what to do next to fix it. Any and all help with this would be greatly appreciated.

What are the GPU temperatures? CPU at 80 should not crash.

I honestly am not sure, I did not have software installed to monitor that at the time of the crashes, but I just installed gpu-z and looks like while just using google chrome temp is around 40C.

Are you monitoring your other fans as well?

I will admit, I have not been monitoring any of my other fans. CPU temp was the only thing I was really keeping track of at the time.

Speccy gives you an easy way to monitor temps, much easier to read than CPU-Z. Give that a try while playing a game.

I'll try using that next time I have the chance, however I will not have access to my PC for about another week so I'll have to report back with what I measure then.
