I was looking around to try and do something, but it's not possible with a locked Bios. But what exactly is a locked bios? And is it possible to unlock one?

Depends if you mean locked as in, the BIOS is password protected

or Locked in the sense of overclocking, that the boards firmware has had those features disabled either due to hardware or software limitations

I'm guessing it's the second one, since I don't have a pass for mine. Thanks

Nothing.

I think most people mean that unlike a Z series board you cannot access the OCing features as the board does not support it

Is there a way to 'unlock' a locked Bios?

generally not no, since they board does not have the hardware to support heavily OCd components

SOME boards are unlocked by the manufacturer, eg all the B/H series board were unlocked to support overcloking the penitum g3258 and some others a year or so back

What are you trying to do?

Desktop - Corsair 300r i7 4770k H100i MSI 780ti 16GB Vengeance Pro 2400mhz Crucial MX100 512gb Samsung Evo 250gb 2 TB WD Green, AOC Q2770PQU 1440p 27" monitor Laptop Clevo W110er - 11.6" 768p, i5 3230m, 650m GT 2gb, OCZ vertex 4 256gb,  4gb ram, Server: Fractal Define Mini, MSI Z78-G43, Intel G3220, 8GB Corsair Vengeance, 4x 3tb WD Reds in Raid 10, Phone Oppo Reno 10x 256gb , Camera Sony A7iii

What are you trying to do?

Disabling the Intel hd graphics, on a laptop, so Nvidia controls all graphics. (Trying to Oc a monitor. And yes, I'm aware of the drawbacks, it's an older one so)

Nothing.

I really don't know. This is the spec sheet if this helps.

Edit: Speccy says it's a Hewlett Packard 2166 U3E1.

Nothing.

Oh laptop, not sure you will be able to do what you intend unless you can disable nvidia optimus

on some older laptops you could disable the onboard GPU through the intel utility, but might not be the case

are you trying to overclock the laptop panel or something?

Trying to overclock the monitor's refresh rate. How would one go about disabling optimus?

Nothing.
