Disclaimer: this may be nothing new to most people here, I've always been careful and kept some form of anti-malware&virus around, and this was one of my few experiences with this sort of thing that I would like to share with people in case someone else didn't know.

Hey so I just did a clean windows install, got Photoshop from chingliu, and anything besides that were just Microsoft tool kits. Somehow this snapdo bullshit app got installed in my pc before I even went for an anti-malware&virus and this shitty bazz search extension also got installed in chrome. Like it actively changed the browsing experience and I figure it'd soon start vomiting adds onto my pages or worse.

Why is this allowed? Why are there no questions asked from chrome? If I was dumb I wouldn't know what was causing it, as many people, so what's the thing?

This is probably not the place to be talking about this, and it's probably not new, but I didn't know it could happen and I'd like to make someone who wouldn't know aware of it. If it wasn't for an error and the stupidly obvious adds, I wouldn't have noticed and some crappy extension could be keylogging or re-routing forms to somewhere and getting all of someone's passwords, getting passwords (or anything for that matter) is really easy when you have a god damn extension that can change any page or run any script.

It was nothing Malwarebytes wasn't able to fix but still, keep an eye out :)

Moral of the story: don't be a filthy pirate and don't use chrome if you want to avoid infections.

I've bought windows and office before and I wasn't happy with the money I paid for them, anything else I don't buy is because I can't afford, if you'd suggest firefox, until not too long ago it'd let websites install extensions without any kind of asking for permission.
