Random Internet Drops On Desktop

Hey forum,

 

I have been having an intermittent issue with the network connection on my PC that has only gotten more frequent as time goes on. Every once in a while my computer, which is hooked up through ethernet, will lose its internet connection. All other devices work just fine, and unplugging and plugging the ethernet cable causes it to work again. I am hoping this is an easy fix as the connection dropping out while playing games is incredibly frustrating. Thanks in advance for any help!

First thing I'd try is replacing the cable. It almost sounds like the connector is slightly loose.

Have already done this. The computer shows that it is receiving a connection with internet access, it just seems to not actually be connecting.
