Hi all,

Just lately i have been asking more questions than giving my help/opinion.

Anyways as a few of you will have now read before, my Girlfriends little brother wants a gaming PC. I have a budget of $300 NZD for CPU and Mobo. I may manage to get him to sell his xbox so he will go full pc gamer so i need the components to be able to hold up for 2 years preferably. Im thinking Fx 6300 but not sure. No overclocking will be done as that will push the budget as ill need a higher end board and a better cooler. I'll be using this site only if any of you care to take a look and no need to convert currencies :)

Thanks in advance :)

The best budget bang for your buck CPU is fx-6300, unless you want to go the APU route but that would be heavily dependent on how much you spend on RAM.

As I thought as well, im not amazing at transfering the currency but its stupidly overpriced. As a recommendation to the op this website seems to be bollocks. Leave them.

That website has i3's and APU's for $200.

Well it seems that what I said before still stands, the 6300 is still your best bet at that website even though it's still hideously overpriced for you. You have my sympathies, like....all of them.

yea you never know how badly it was treated until it breaks the day after you buy it. Personally I would never buy used parts for my PC.

Why allocate a separate budget for the mobo/cpu? What about the rest of the parts?

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/
