980m>970m>960m>940m

The 980 is the fastest no doubt. I wouldn't even consider the 940m.

The more Vram you have the higher resolutions and more textures you can run smoothly.

The GTX 980m is even weaker than a GTX 970, in most cases I would just get the cheaper variant with less vram, only the 940m that I will get 2GB instead of 1GB.

so in most tasks you saying the 940m is sufficient ?

No, I dont, I was just talking about the amount of vram, what are you planning to do with the GPU? Gaming? Than get the most expensive one that you can afford, if normal tasks, you can just stay with the iGPU of the CPU.

I dont know much about 3d rendering, but I as far as I know, you need a lot of vram for that, then I would get some GTX 970m with 6GB or GTX 980m with 4-8GB, but wait until somebody that knows more about it answer.

Get a chromebook or Mac Air. Light laptops rule, windows DROOLS.

But seriously, for editing you'll need a lot of RAM, a beefy mobile CPU and a proper graphics card. As far as light gaming goes -- the difference between my 960m and my desktop 960 is another world. You're best getting a desktop, but if you need a laptop definitely nothing less than a 970m and a 6700HQ

i currently have a macbook air ... but i cant just do it with desktop (conditions _ that is high enough and have good design .. do you suggest anything ?

Or an alienware, more flashy, but 4k, which is worth it for editing and has better performance: https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Alienware-15-Touch-Signature-Edition-Gaming-Laptop/productID.332771400

Personally, I shied away from razer because of their high price for their quality and their lack of warranty. For sheer performance for the buck, I found it lacking.

That said, however, their build quality won a lot of applause at CES from a bunch of techies, which is why I mentioned it

okay ,, thank you
