Hi i sold my gtx960 to a guy and now hes saying he is having, perf issues with it. I didnt have this sort of issues with it and i showed to him while it was working before i bought it.

Ive ben trying to help him to get it working and i think hes mobo is the main issue here.

Specs for his pc from what ive gathered so far

mobo: asrock n68c-gs fx

Cpu: fx 6300

psu: some 500w one

gpu: gtx 960

Ive allredi told him to wipe drivers with ddu and now i just told him to monitor temps with hwmonitor while he is burning the cpu with msi kombustor

What is he having performance issues on?

It could just be that his system is sh*t.

It could be the PSU, it could be the CPU. If the PSU is a cheap nasty brand then I would replace that ASAP.

And get back to use when you have the temps so we know it is not thermal throttling :)

BeamNg was stuttering/lagging on 720p and The forest works sometimes fine and then stutters/laggs

Hmmm, should not be too bad.

Like I said, make sure nothing is thermal throttling. That what it sounds like if there is random stutters/lag. Check the CPU and GPU for it.

Throttling sounds like the issue in forest, but the constant on beamng doesnt. Also his beamng is torrented apparently. And the mobo has iGPU in it and i belive amd's fx series doesnt support iGPU's

If it is constant on BeamNG then it is probably just the system cannot run it.

The CPU is not the strongest, especially for heavy physics games.

I agree with bittenlfeax on the cpu performance. an fx-6300 is really old and only keeps up today because fo it's low price.
BeamNG is also only beta/early access (not to mention pirated?) and thus anything but optimized.

But that's just my thoughts. Really curious otherwise on the topic as that is something that I will most likely encounter fixing pcs at some point.

If you ever have ti troubleshoot pc's then i would recommend using speccy for it. I cant really use it here since i only have telephone connectiion to this guy
