Hey guys,

a while back in 2009 I was working at a local computer store back before I got into tech-repairs.

They always used a software called pc-check (dos-based from a floppy) to automatically check the hardware for malfunctions.

(Apart from the obvious replacement method)

Is there still software like that around? I wonder since I had the case of a pc randomly rebooting for no reason (no rx 480 ;) ) and the PSU wasn't the culprit,

or rather after I changed the PSU I was unable to reproduce the error, whilst it happend before I changed it.

After the change however the old PSU worked fine as well... (my guess is still PSU as it was an 7 year old cheap 420Watts thingy) ^^

Cheers for any suggestions. :)

Floppy? In 09? Anyway that software exists still http://www.eurosoft-uk.com/products/pc-check/

It was 08a actually, I was a year off.
Was version 4.0 i believe and roughly 50% of pcs back then (or pretty much all cheap ones) didn't boot from usb stick, but usb floppy.

Ahh good old Socket 775.

And yeah, I didn't mention that it is still around but really expensive, which is my problem with it.

I realize that I may have to spent the amount but I wanted to know it there are alternatives / better programs.

I still have an old 4.0 lying around on corporate license which is most likely expired as the company went bankrupt in 2010.

Still works, but has serious issues with modern hardware.

Thanks four your reply though. :)
