Hello guys!  I just signed up to get an outside opinion on(?) a problem I'm having.

I would like to upgrade my pc and i'm now entirely sure what is the best way of tackling it.

My current setup is:

Fx 8350

Some pretty decent Asus mobo

Asus gtx 970

Corsair 850W Gold Power supply

16gigs of Ram

120gig ssd

1t hdd

2t hdd

Windows 10

Fractal design R4 case

Now my main concern is the fx 8350

It has served me well but i have noticed some bottlenecking while playing cpy heavy titles like arma and cities skylines.

I have about 600 to 700 bucks to blow on this and currently i have two possibilities.

1. Getting a new cpu.  The i7 6700k looks pretty good to me.  Would have to get a new mobo and have money left over for a good water cooling solution. About 600€ ~ 650 USD

2. Sticking with the 8350. Getting the new 1070 and a better water cooling solution for the cpu about 650€ ~ 710 USD

What would you guys recommend me to do?

Edit: FYI i live in Finland so all the parts cost a little bit more here.

Thanks for the help!

Definitely go Intel. You will see major performance boosts. You will have to get a new mobo, the 6700k liquid cooling and new ddr4 RAM. Your RAM right now is ddr3

I mainly use is as a gaming computer.  However I do use Photoshop/Premiere Pro from time to time and also do Web  and game design and such.

I do feel like the i7 upgrade would be the best way to. I should also probably mention that I play on a 1080p 144hz monitor.

Here ya go: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/zxqr6X

I suggest you sell your Mobo, CPU, and Ram and get the 6700k, Corsair h100 cooler, 16gb RAM, and a MSA Z170A board (make sure you can overclock on this board though, I am pretty sure you can)

Total: $663.86

Next upgrade would be to use the money you make selling the Mobo, CPU, RAM, and eventually GPU (Probably get about $250-300 for them) and save $100-200 more (maybe around Christmas time) and get the 1070 or 1080 :)

These upgrades will last you for the next 2-3 years, by then you'll probably get a better (21:9) monitor. Maybe dual monitor it, both options are awesome for editing.
