Hello,

I recently have started looking into building my first PC. This PC would be used for gaming. Nothing too graphics intensive normally but i would like to have the ability to play those games if needed/wanted and want to future proof for the next couple of years. However mostly MMO's will be played on this computer. I would also like to use this PC to record/livestream and edit the OBS videos. Prior to researching for parts i had very little knowledge of the hardware so i spent some time and pestered some old guild mates of mine to kinda answer some very basic questions. However after awhile i think i have got some good parts picked out and it should be able to do 4k. So here is my parts list.http://pcpartpicker.com/list/RW7w6X

I do plan on doing some upgrades once i can afford it. The current $1900ish price is basically my entire budget. However i plan on getting another 16 gigs of ram to make it 32 gigs total. Another 2 TB for my hard drive for a total of 4 TB when i can afford it. I would like to get another 2 of those monitors to get a triple monitor set up going. Now we come to a few questions i have.

1.) When i have the money should i replace the graphics card i have with 2 MSI GeForce 980 Ti 6GB for 2 way SLI, or should i keep the graphics card i have and get 2 more of them for a 3-way crossfire, and yes i realize i would need to get a better power supply if i did the latter.

2.) Will that CPU cooler keep my PC cool enough even with the future planned upgrades. Also are more fans in my computer case needed atm or can i get by with the ones that come with the case

3.) Will everything i currently have chosen fit in that case without having to mod the case, also will the future planned upgrades. both the 2 msi geforce cards or 3 radeon r9 options. more ram and memory fit in it with a higher power supply.

4.) Finally a few really basic/stupid questions but i'm not super knowledgeable when it comes to hardware so i better ask. I'm going to use a headset all the time. Do i need a sound card or does sound already come with the motherboard. Also is this computer wifi capable or would i need to get a wireless adapter. Finally i assume any usb mouse and keyboard will work, even the one i got from like a 5 year old computer i bought at best buy.

5.) Finally overall how is my pc suited to the original goal in the first paragraph. and is it future proof for awhile.

Thank You so much if you got this far into the post. I really appreciate if you took the time to not only read but respond to somebody who is just trying to make sure their first attempt at a pc build goes well and not end tragically or in frustration. Also do not worry i will not try to build it all by myself, i will have someone right next to me who has built a few pc's before.

Hi To answer your questions

1. If you are doing only gaming / livestreaming you shouldn't need 2 980ti's if you do need more power nvidias new 10 series gpus are great the 1080 is better then two 980ti's in sli (according to nvidia) but the 1080, 1070 and even the 1060 are great gpu's

2. that cpu cooler is great for cooling your cpu not your whole pc

3. that case is a full atx case so it looks very much like everything will fit

4. you would not need a sound card unless you want the better sound but for 99.9% of people the motherboards sound is fine, yes any usb keyboard and mouse will work as long as they don't need extra drivers that you don't have.

and with the wifi it seems that motherboard has in built wifi and bluetooth.

5. yes that is great looking pc your cpu will last for ages and you if you get a 1080 or a 1070 that will also last for ages

anyways hope this helped

1) One better card is always beter then crossfire/SLI.

Go with a 1080, since this card is capable to do 4K. (And will for quite some time).

2) That water cooler will be fine for a 6700K, you should even be able to get quite a stable overclock.

3) Everything will fit fine, you choose quite a big case.

4) The motherboard has a good sound card already installed, just plug your headset in the back and you're good to go. Mouse and Keyboard will work fine too.

5) I'd see you go a pretty slick build in your hands, a few optional adjustments like the GPU (GtX 1080), SSD, etc. And you will make a satisfying and future-proof build.

May the force be with you - Yoda

Don't worry, sound comes with your motherboard :). Yes, the ASUS z170 Deluxe comes with onboard WiFi so you're good there too, and everything will fit with plenty of room to spare in that behemoth case.

If you're going with 16GB of RAM now, I don't think you need to consider another 16GB of RAM as an upgrade for a good 2+ years. So don't worry about money for a RAM upgrade right now.

The R9 390 does not match well with the 4K screen at all. Personally I think 4K isn't that much of a better experience right now, so if you went with a cheaper 1440p monitor, you could put some extra money towards a newer card.

IMO if I were able to change this build i would:

-Go for a cheaper Z170 motherboard that still has onboard wifi (The ASUS Deluxe boards are overkill IMO for this price bracket)

-Go for a cheaper 1440p monitor (4k still isn't worth it, and shouldn't be considered in this price bracket anyway)

-Use the extra money from the first two options to go for a GTX 1070 - best fit for 1440p, while not a complete bank breaker.
