NVIDIA Shield Android TV Chromecast problems

I got this sheild to maybe be able to stream TV shows and stuff on it from things like CraveTV and other apps like CTV GO. After realizing that there are no apps for these on the android TV play store, I chromecasted them to it because it also works like that. This is where the problem comes in. Both Crave and CTV's video is glitched out and sometimes just stops with the audio playing still, and the audio also cuts out often. It is completely unwatchable, and to add to my confusion, these two apps both work properly on a NORMAL chromecast. Chromecasting apps like Vessel and Twitch to the Sheild work fine as well. After finding this problem, I kind of thought that having it was kind of pointless because I thought it would work with apps that are on the play store or chromecasting, so I tried to return it. The guy at Canada Computers (who had absolutely NO CLUE what he was doing or saying) said he can't refund it because it wasn't defective, and told me to call NVIDIA. They made a case and 'escalated it to level 2'. They haven't found a solution, and I don't particularly expect them to. 

 

Is chromecast just broken on these consoles? I would really like to be able to watch Crave and CTV on this.
