Hard Disk Weird Noises

So my 8 year old Samsung HD322HJ ATA drive has started making these noises specially on Boot Up. It's got the OS loaded in it and I think It's going to fail.

No performance hits or anything like that but think I should get a new one? The sound stops in about 5 seconds.

Yeah I would get a new one. Get a 250 GB Samsung 850 EVO and a 1 TB WD Blue.

Yeah if it is an 8 year old drive it probabbly has a lot of hours on it, make sure to back up everything on it, but hdds can make weird sounds at times.

 

Given that it is 8 years old it is most likely sata 3gb/s, so a new 6gb/s drive would be twice as fast, assuming you have sata 6gb/s ports on your motherboard.

Already have the 1 TB WD, it's WD Green though and don't know why I can't find them anymore

I do! and yes it is a Sata 3gb/s. Thnaks  ^.^ I'll change it mostly!

Buy an SSD! A good one would be one from samsung, a cheap one would be the new Kingston SSDNow UV400
