Does pascal support async ?

jjohnthedon1

I saw on adored tb on the 1080 and 1070 review that there were no async compute moduals on the new pascal cards

so how come the 1080 and 1070 can do async through drivers and the 900 series can't ?

If it's just drivers are nvdia just being dicks and not allowing the older generations to use it ?

Why will the 1070 support async better than a 980ti if they have the same performance and there's nothing to support async compute on the 1070 ?

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz-

also (1600)

asus rog crosshairs vi hero x370-

MSI 980ti G6 1506mhz slix2 -

h110 pull - acer xb270hu 1440p -

 corsair 750D - corsair 16gb 2933

Probably they just want to give the support to the new generation, but I doubt that will be as good as AMD, since they support on the hardware level.

NVIDIA does Async computing in the driver level where as AMD does it hardware level directly on the cards, thus AMD has an advantage with Asynchronous compute. So the 1080 and 1070 do support it, just not on the hardware level.
