Xbox One Controllers and Steam Machine

I have just received my Steam Machine and I am unable to figure out how to get my wired XBox One controllers to work with it. They work with my Xbox and PC just fine. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance!

Update the steam machine. The updates that contain the drivers for the xbox one controllers connected via usb.

I understand. So when I turned the Steam machine on it automatically updated to what I assume is the latest version of its software. I hate to be that guy but can you tell me how to manually update this thing?

To get xbox one drivers to work with Linux (which Steam OS is based on) you have to manually download and install the necessary drivers from the repositories. This requires super user permissions and access to the terminal which I do not believe you can get within Steam OS. Xbox 360 controllers should work though as the drivers are included within the linux kernel.
