I have been folding for long time now and have been looking for a way to increase my folding performance. Currently I'm running a 3570k. What I am wondering is would an upgrade to a 4930k show a noticeable performance difference. Does folding use a lot of ram also.

Thanks

All the nvidia GPU's! A 3570K is just fine for F@H but get some 780's or 690's and just throw them in, that's where the numbers are!

more cores = more betterer for folding, so if you follow whaler's advice of getting a server grade 8 core cpu's from intel, then you'll be max performance.

Available from 3pm to Midnight Eastern Time (GMT-5). (>'-')> <('-'<) ^(' - ')^ <('-'<) (>'-')> You can't stop the kirby dance.

With core17 WU AMD and Nvidia are pretty close together when it comes to folding.

I do have a 780. But I don't know how much a bump in performance I will see between a 2011 platform vs a 1155 platform.

You'll get a MUCH larger increase from another 780.

Unless you have a 4P system your best bet to get the most amount of points would be to GPU since it is much faster than a CPU.
