upgrade suggestions please

Hi,

Yes, another upgrade help request. I built my PC 3 years ago and it still functions without too many problems, however I do see that the framerate is dropping is games. Can anyone suggest some upgrade options that’ll keep it running without too many problems and able to keep playing upcoming games? I use the pc for work, but that is limited to Microsoft Office, and gaming. The games range from WoW to The Division and anything in between.

Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400S white (recent purchase)
PSU: XFX PRO550W
CPU: Intel i5-3570K @ 4Ghz
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
MOBO: Asus P8Z77-V LK
GPU: Sapphire HD 7870 XT Boost 2GB GDDR5
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP – DDR3-1600 – 8GB
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB (for windows 10) & 3x Seagate Barracuda 7200 1TB (for additional storage)

I’m planning to buy a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB this month to replace one of the Seagate drives so I can migrate my Steam folder and ‘my documents / downloads’ folders. The spinning of the HDD is driving me nuts. My main storage is a 6TB NAS.

Does anyone see anyone see room for improvements without spending hundreds of euros? I’ve been thinking of trying to find another HD 7870 XT or 7950 to play around with crossfire, but I guess that I’ll need to replace the PSU then as well.

tough to recommend what to do since I don't know exactly what your budget is. but if you're talking gaming improvements, upgrade your GPU. thats the weakest link in your system currently. and the GPU is the only component in your system that is directly tuned for gaming performance.

sorry, seems like I indeed missed a rather obvious point there. Regarding the budget: money for the 500GB SSD has already been reserved. I'm left with something around 200 euro / 220 usd to spend.

I'll go for a new GPU. Just read about the new geforce GTX 1060. Probably a silly question, but will that work on my motherboard? Or is compatibility between mobo and gpu usually not problematic?
