My setup: i7 4790k - GA-H97M-D3H - Corsair Vengeance Pro - GTX 970 - SilverStone SG09

I'm trying to decide between the NH-U12S and the NH-D15S. I know the U12S fits without a problem but I couldn't find a single build using the D15S, and the same motherboard and case to compare. It says it wouldn't block the first PCIe slot (http://noctua.at/en/nh-d15s/comp) but without pictures is hard to visualize how it would fit inside the case.

Would it even be worth getting the D15S if I don't overclock? Room temperature here: min 5º in the winter, max 35º C in the summer (yes, I know).

No, it's not worth getting if you don't overclock. Go with a cheaper cooler.

Wow, even when it gets really hot (room temperature like 35º C) and CPU is under 100% load? That's amazing. I only had cheap coolers so I don't really get how good the Noctuas are. Thanks!

The stock cooler is already enough with decent case airflow. The only reason to get an aftermarket cooler in that case is for lower noise.

If you tell us where you're shopping/located, we can probably provide a cheaper alternative.

But it's a MicroATX case so in the summer it might get hotter than usual inside the box, even with good airflow. I can only choose Noctua coolers - long story, but basically I get a big discount. My current cooler sounds like an airplane at full load (or stress test) and I'm not really liking the temperatures that can go higher than 80º sometimes. It would be nice if I could get it under 70º C (summer) so that's why I was thinking about the D15S.

80c is fine for load temps.
