Does electro-magnetic interference really something to worry about?

angrypig7

I've started crimping LAN cables and some people say that cheaper cables tend to have more electro-magnetic interference resulting in slower network speeds.

Is electro-magnetic interference between cables really something to worry about, and take into consideration when buying cables??

If so, which cable would be better ? Premium Cat.5e or cheaper CAT.6?

It doesn't matter too much for wired internet, if you use wifi however electromagnetic interference can ruin your internet speeds, just get whatever cable, I wouldn't get the cheapest (unless it has good reviews) but don't waste money on premium cables.

Oh thanks, that's actually what I expected. I don't expect cables to be that different from on another

Cat 6 all the way.

If you had to go any significant distance, use 5e instead.

Otherwise, it doesn't really matter.
