Okay. Sounds good. Should I get it now on console for $40 dollars or should I wait until I have a PC and get it during a sale?

I mean, that's a choice you have to make. Is it important to you that you play now? Or can you wait? I honestly don't know how you'd play on a controller, it requires a good amount of precision to do well on harder difficulties.

I am honestly better at aiming with a controller due to playing with it more, even though I would agree that a mouse and keyboard is better it just takes me time to get used to it.

Great game. I would always prefer a mouse and keyboard for this game. Have tried a 360 gamepad, but in doom on highest  difficulty, you need to be fast and precise.

Speed and precision isn't eliminated by a game controller and enabled only by a mouse.

Speed and precision is gained by comfort and practice.   I play as many games on my PC as I do on my several consoles. Each input method is excellent.

Doom is pretty great. The plot is rather weak, but I'm sure you know that... and hopefully you expect that.  With Doom, it's always been about the gameplay, graphics, and atmosphere.

If it's $40 now, I'd go ahead and buy it if you have no other games in your queue. I bought it several weeks ago for $48 (I think) and it was worth it.  There's no sense in waiting for a game to get cheaper... they always get more and more cheap so it turns into a waiting/guessing game.  $50 or less is my sweet spot.  It hurt my soul to buy a game at full price ($60).
