Router Switch

nimitzpro

I would like to switch my grandparents old modem for a new one we bought, that has wifi. How can we do this.

P.S.

1. They live in eastern europe.

2. You have to sign in before you are able to connect to the internet, after you have connected to the router.

Thanks!

You would likely need to call your ISP to get it added to your account so they can provision it for services.

Do you mean sign in is like connecting dial up on windows? such as this.

If that is the case, you can just connect your new wireless router to the modem, and setup the new router to dial pppoe by entering your credentials.

You should not need to call your ISP.

If you are using fiber/cable, most likely it doesn't need any login/sign in. If that is the case, you need to clone the mac address of what ever device you use previously to your new wireless router. Or you can just call your ISP to refresh the provisioning if you don't really want to do it.
