There have been reports of people's motherboards being broken because of the 480. It depends what motherboard you have. The card draws too much power from the pcie slot causing the motherboard to just shut off.

I've read that at some people the pcie slot broke or the onboard audio broke.

This happened at the people who own cheap small motherboards, so if you have a good you should be fine. Not too sure though.

im using a msi m3 z170 is it good?

Jayztwocents posted on twitter that every single graphicscard draws such amounts from pcie. I wouldnt care too much with such a high-end board.

I'm not sure. I can't tell, but I think that it's better to send the card back like most people (I know) did. I wouldn't risk to damage your motherboard.

Unless it's a special case scenario, video cards can draw a maximum of 75W if they utilize the PCIe standard. If not, obviously they can go beyond it.

We have to wait unless amd or reviewers release further information. Maybe it all was just a big buh huh
